Professor Serpell is the Director of General Surgery and Head of the Breast, Endocrine and General Surgery Unit at The Alfred Hospital. He is also the Head of the Breast, Endocrine Surgery and Surgical Oncology Unit at Frankston Hospital and is a Professor of Surgery at Monash University.

Ms Patricia Terrill, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, MBBS, FRACS

Ms Terrill specialises in:

• Skin cancer surgery
• Hand surgery (Dupuytren’s contracture, carpel tunnel syndrome, trigger fingers, hand fractures, tendon problems, arthritis of finger joints etc.)
• Wound management
• Cosmetic breast and abdominal surgery, upper eyelid reduction and correction of prominent ears

Ms Terrill is the Head of the Plastic Surgery Unit at Peninsula Health, Frankston Hospital. She is a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Australian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The Australian Hand Society and the Australian Wound Management Association.

Minor operations performed under local anaesthetic are able to be carried out onsite in our dedicated procedure room.

Under the guidance of Ms Terrill, Our Practice Nurse, Emma specializes in the care of wounds and skin care. We are a distributor of Jan Marini skin care products. Emma will be able to take you through any questions you may have on skin care and advise on what is best for you and your skin type. Emma is well informed on Jan Marini Skin care products and has personal knowledge of the products.

Ms Melanie Walker, Breast and General Surgeon, MBBS, FRACS

Ms Walker specializes in:

• Oncoplastic breast surgery
• Breast Ultrasound

Ms Melanie Walker graduated Monash University in 1994.  She has been practicing as a breast surgeon since 2005.  Ms Walker trained in general surgery at the Alfred Hospital, obtaining her FRACS in 2002. After working as a consultant general surgeon at the Alfred for six months, Ms Walker then spent three years in the United Kingdom undertaking further training in breast surgery.   She gained valuable experience in breast reconstruction and breast reshaping in breast conservation surgery.

Ms Walker returned to Melbourne in 2005 setting up her private practice here in Frankston. Her professional memberships include, the Australasian Society for Breast Disease, the Australian New Zealand Breast Cancer Trials Group, the Association of Breast Surgery (UK), the British Association of Surgical Oncology, the European Society of Surgical Oncology and the Australian Medical Association.

Mr Stewart Skinner, Colorectal and Gastrointestinal Surgeon

Mr Skinner specializes in:

• Surgery for colorectal cancer.
• Inflammatory bowel disease.
• Rectal prolapse and incontinence.
• Treats anorectal conditions including haemorrhoids, fissures and fistulas.
• General surgery practice including laparoscopic surgery for gallstones, small bowel disease and obesity surgery

Mr Stewart Skinner is a visiting surgeon with the Colorectal Service at the Alfred Hospital and Head of the Colorectal Services at Frankston Hospital. He completed a PhD Thesis on colorectal cancer in 1994 and undertook postgraduate training in colorectal surgery at St Mark’s Hospital in London and the Royal London Hospital.

Mr Skinner is a member of the Colorectal Society of Australia and New Zealand.

Mr Yew Ming Kuan is our Vascular surgeon

Dr Yew-Ming Kuan obtained his M.B.,B.S in 1992 from Melbourne University his FRACS in Vascular Surgery in 2006 and his postgraduate medical training was completed at the Box Hill and Austin Hospitals in Melbourne and Auckland City Hospital in New Zealand.
Dr Yew-Ming Kuan has published a wide variety of papers on Vascular and Endovascular Surgery and delivered presentations across various hospitals and societies including Australia and New Zealand Society of Vascular Surgeons on subject matter, ranging from chronic ulcers, open vascular surgery and complex hybrid endovascular surgery.

 He is highly experience in management of complex thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms with advanced minimally invasive endovascular techniques

Currently Dr Yew-Ming Kuan has attachments to Monash Medical Centre, Dandenong Hospital, Peninsula Health Network, Frankston Hospital and Rosebud Hospitals. Yew-Ming also has accreditation and admitting privileges at several private hospitals including The Valley Private Hospital, Knox Private Hospital, Beleura Private Hospital and Peninsula Private Hospital.

Dr Yew-Ming Kuan can provide services in:  

• abdominal and thoracic aortic pathology
• especially highly complex advanced minimally invasive endovascular surgery of thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms
• aneurysms and dissections
• peripheral arterial occlusive disease including carotid arterial disease
